Gabe DiPietro began his law enforcement career as a Patrol Officer with the Morris County Park Police in 2006. While working his way through the ranks, Gabe joined and soon headed up the Mounted Unit. Its presence was seen during many events, including demonstrations for local schools and organizations, parades, and other law enforcement events.
In 2012, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and then Lieutenant in 2014. At that time, while serving under Chief Doyle, they transformed National Night Out into a more Community Oriented Event. In addition to law enforcement and emergency services, they invited local social service organizations to participate in the event. This gave the community a better idea of resources that were available to them. Organizations such as the Red Cross, JBWS, who help victims of domestic violence; Shop Rite, featuring nutrition information for both children and adults; Division of Child Protection, and many other local resources. He also organized the Park Police Toy Drive for needy children and children in local hospitals.
In 2016, Gabe was named Chief of the Morris County Park Police. As a leader, he is constantly charged with addressing the changing times and ensuring that our policies and procedures align with the best practices in law enforcement. He consistently strived to seek out and provide training opportunities for the force and himself so that they are better equipped to provide the community the best service possible.
Gabe consistently attends Executive Leadership Programs to maintain to high level of professionalism throughout the agency. Most recently, DiPietro completed the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Program.
DiPietro is a member of the NJ State Association of Chiefs, the Morris County Police Chief’s Association, National Association of Township Watch and the Italian American Police Society of New Jersey. In December of 2021 Gabe joined the Rockaway Township Police Department as a Police Officer when the Morris County Park Police was dissolved into the Sheriff’s Department.
