Port Authority Police Officer Sean Dunne swam the English Channel! He Did It !!!!!!!!
Sean, an open-water swimmer, will head to Dover, England, and enter the English Channel sometime between July 1 and July 10, 2025, depending on weather conditions. Once in the water, whatever the weather conditions become will be part of the 21-mile swim to Cap Gris-Nez, France.
Sean will be raising funds for the Anthony M. Varvaro Believe Foundation, named in honor of Port Authority Police Officer Anthony Varvaro, E.O.W. 9/11/2022.
The Foundation celebrates Anthony’s life of achievement and service as a Major League Baseball pitcher and as a police officer who protected the people of New York, New Jersey, and the millions using Port Authority facilities daily. The Foundation continues Anthony’s dedication and support for youth sports programs.
The English Channel Swim is part of Ocean Seven, a series of the world’s seven most difficult channel swims, a challenge Sean intends to complete.
