Trustee
Wood-Ridge Police Department - Lieutenant
I am a committed law enforcement officer with over 27 years of experience in the small town of Wood-Ridge, located in the heart of Bergen County NJ. My journey in public service began in 1998 as a Patrol Officer, where I prioritized proactive policing through emergency response, investigative work, and maintaining community safety. Over the years, I received recognition that included several Meritorious and Life Saving awards, as well as being inducted into the NJ Honor Legion Society for a brave act of bravery.
In 2007, I progressed to the role of Police Sergeant, assuming responsibilities as a first line supervisor. During the subsequent 15 years, I oversaw officer shifts as a tour commander, and conducted departmental evaluations for CALEA accreditation. Furthermore, I served as the departments liaison for officer injury claims to the Bergen Risk Manager’s Group, and led campaigns to promote child seat safety as a certified installer thus further solidifying my dedication to public safety.
As of 2022, I currently serve as a Police Lieutenant, undertaking an administrative leadership position. My current duties are being part of the Internal Affairs Division, organizing officer schedules in the Patrol Division, managing the statewide Uniform Crime Reporting via NIBRS, and overseeing the online NJ Learn Platform to further enhance training for my department. I also oversaw the departments business registry and continued my liaison role with Bergen Risk Management. In addition I oversee the department’s accreditation program working alongside Lexipol to maintain our CALEA certification status, as well as serving as the department’s Community Engagement Task Force liaison officer. These responsibilities highlight my unwavering commitment to operational excellence and community service.
In terms of my educational background, I obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice from William Paterson College in 1995, with additional coursework in Economics and Computer Science. From 1996 to 1997, I pursued further studies towards a Master’s Degree. I am an alumnus of Paramus Catholic High School, graduating in 1990.
I have been an active member of the NJ Italian American Police Society for over 20 years. At every stage of my professional journey, I strive to build trust, lead with integrity, and mentor aspiring officers as I set my sights on my next promotion.
Prior to being accepted on the IAPSNJ executive board, I served as the president for the Lotus Ltd. Car Club of North America for 8 years, and was then their Senior Advisor for to additional 10 years. In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, going for car runs with a core group of friends, enjoying a fine cigar paired with an Remy Martin XO Cognac or a single malt Scotch, and making homemade wine. As an audiophile I enjoy listening to music on my Decware all tube stereo system and playing the guitar.
